2022

In 2022, Berlin Commercial scaled the festival back up while continuing to operate within the remaining safety regulations. Silent Green hosted the final conference programme, where directors, studios, and companies including MATTE Projects shared behind-the-scenes insights into large-scale productions and contemporary creative processes. Zauberberg introduced audiences to Little Spider, while further talks and presentations explored the ideas, collaborations, and creative journeys behind the work before the edition’s award winners were announced.

The week began with a kick-off event beneath the subway tracks at Killyourdarlings Studio. Throughout the festival, satellite events across multiple locations created opportunities for guests to meet, move through the city, and reconnect in person – from a large-scale party hosted by Akkurat to studio sessions with Commonvision and gallery gatherings across Kreuzberg alongside Saltwater, Bonaparte, and many more. The celebrations culminated in a flotilla of buses carrying attendees across Berlin to the final afterparty, extending the festival’s atmosphere of openness, exchange, and creative community late into the night.
